Zoe was very professional and organized when she recorded the New Fairfield High School Winter Concert. The band director and I, who are used to setting up all the microphones, were able instead to focus on ensuring that our ensembles were prepared to perform. Zoe never even complained when the order of the program was changed, or the positioning of the performers was different than it was in the sound check. When I received the recording, I was delighted to hear the choir sound the way I hear them. The sound was vibrant and rich, and true to my memory of the performance. I would recommend Zoe and Live Sound Studios to any of my colleagues looking to record their ensembles! When you are looking for a recording engineer you need two qualities: ears and technical skill. Zoe Vandermeer has both in abundance. I don't really mean she has more than the normal number of ears (!), but that the two she has are superbly tuned to the highest standard. And she has the technical skill to deliver the kind of sound you want for your recording. When you are looking for a recording producer you need only one thing: an uncanny ability to hear what comes across through the microphone. Zoe, with many years experience as a performer and as a recording artist, knows what works when she hears it. That kind of talent with that kind of experience is rare. To have both recording engineer and producer in the same person is even rarer. Zoe, as a producer and engineer, was clear, honest,open, and extremely helpful. Zoe was passionate and willing to take the time to help me accomplish what I knew I could.
